3 Injured In 2-Car Crash In Bartow County
The accident was reported along U.S. 411 near Macedonia Road at the Etowah River bridge, the Georgia State Patrol said.

BARTOW COUNTY, GA — Three people were sent to the hospital Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Ga. 20/U.S. 411 in Bartow County.
The Georgia State Patrol said the collision occurred near Macedonia Road at the Etowah River Bridge. A preliminary report indicates a Jeep turned left from Macedonia Road on to U.S. 411 in front of a pickup truck traveling westbound.
After that initial impact, the truck came to a rest in the median while the Jeep came to a stop down an embankment, the state agency said.

The drivers of both vehicles had to be extricated following the crash. Both passengers in the truck were conscious and transported to Floyd Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. The driver of the Jeep was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital.
The Georgia State Patrol added it's unclear if the driver of the Jeep will survive the injuries sustained in the collision.

U.S. 411/Ga. 20 had to be shut down in both directions to EMS and state troopers can work the scene of the accident. GSP notes the highway is now open. This is a developing story, so return to Patch for updates.
