400-Pound Pallet Falls, Injures Worker

A employee at a Bartow County facility was transported to an area hospital late Tuesday morning following an apparent workplace accident.

Bartow County Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Brad Cothran said crews responded to the accident, which occurred at a facility along Friction Drive in Cartersville.

The incident happened when a pallet weighing around 400 pounds “fell over, striking a male worker.”

The employee had been moved from under the pallet, and was conscious and alert by the time crews arrived on the scene. The patient complained of neck, shoulder and arm pain, and was transported to Cartersville Medical Center for evaluation, Cothran added.
