4th of July 2017: Parade, Fireworks Come To Cartersville (ICYMI)

Stars & Stripes Over Cartersville​ will begin with a parade at 9 a.m. and continue with a festival and fireworks at Dellinger Park.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The annual festival commemorating Independence Day in Cartersville is right around the corner.

The Stars & Stripes Over Cartersville celebration will be held Tuesday, July 4 at Dellinger Park.

Attendees can expect to take part in arts and crafts, children's activities, entertainment and, of course, the much-anticipated fireworks show.

Before the festival, however, will be the annual parade presented by the Cartersville Optimist Club and WBHF FM 100.3 and AM 1450.

The parade down Main Street kicks off at 9 a.m. at the Tabernacle Baptist Church parking lot. The procession will leave Douglas Street, turn right onto Church Street, make a left on Bartow Street, left on Main Street, left on Stonewall Street and left on East Church Street where it will end at the church.

Proceeds from the parade benefit local children’s charities through the Cartersville Optimist Club.

Festivities will continue at 2 p.m. at Dellinger Park located at 100 Pine Grove Road and wrap up around 10 p.m. Admission is free, but parking will cost $5.

The Century Bank of Georgia stage will be teaming with music all day, with Peachtree Station headlining the main concert at 8 p.m. The event will be topped off with its huge fireworks celebration, and residents are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to snuggle up for the show.
