5 Injured In 2-Vehicle Crash In Cartersville

The accident was reported Tuesday afternoon on U.S. 411 at Peeples Valley Road.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The Cartersville Police Department is investigating a two-vehicle crash that sent five people to an area hospital Tuesday afternoon.

Bartow County EMS sent two ambulances to the scene of the collision around 4:45 p.m. Nov. 28 on U.S. 411 at Peeples Valley Road.

One car involved in the crash was occupied by two women and one girl who all reported various injuries: one adult female with neck pain, another woman with neck, back and side pain and a little girl with neck pain, said Bartow EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran.

The second vehicle, a pickup truck, had two passengers who also reported injuries. An adult male had chest pain and a juvenile girl suffered a possible fracture to the upper arm, Cothran added.

All five patients were transported to Cartersville Medical Center for treatment. Cartersville Police Department spokesperson Lt. Mike Bettikofer said "at this time" it appears one of the vehicles failed to stop at a red light at the traffic signal. More details will be released once the report is completed by the police department's traffic investigator.
