Atlanta Steeplechase Comes To Kingston Downs
Annual event featuring horse races, hat contests, a foxhound parade, skydivers, and children's activities benefits Bert's Big Adventure.

On April 23, 2016, more than 25,000 individuals are expected to be at Kingston Downs for the 51st Annual Atlanta Steeplechase, with guests ranging from children to corporate executives. This year’s event will benefit Bert’s Big Adventure, a nonprofit organization that provides a magical, all-expenses-paid, five-day journey to Walt Disney World® for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families.
Atlanta Steeplechase is in its 51st year of operation. It has steadily grown into metro-Atlanta and Georgia’s spring social and sporting event of the year. The event is held annually at the beautiful 435-acre Kingston Downs complex. To ensure maximum attendance and enjoyment, the event offers a wide range of spectator categories. Steeplechase patrons enjoy the circuit’s best horses and jockeys showcased in five premier races throughout the afternoon.
The gates will open at 9AM and races will begin at 1:30PM. The daylong event is filled with thrilling horse races, hat contests, tent contests, a foxhound parade, skydivers, children’s activities, terrier races, shopping, people watching, and so much more. From the party place, the Infield, to the corporate exclusive Chairman’s Tent, the Atlanta Steeplechase offers something for everyone.

To qualify for Bert’s Big Adventure, children must be between the ages of 5 and 12, live in “The Bert Show” radio listening area, prove financial need and have never been to Walt Disney World®. The trip and programs create a community of families that establish lasting friendships with others facing similar challenges.
