Adairsville Man Charged With Rape
Police were informed of the alleged assault on Saturday, July 14.

ADAIRSVILLE, GA — An Adairsville man has been charged with sexually assaulting over the weekend in the city, according to police.
Officers with the Adairsville Police Department were flagged down on Saturday, July 14 and received a report of an "alleged sexual assault and domestic violence assault" against an adult female, the agency said Wednesday.
Adairsville police detectives launched an investigation into the report the same day. Those investigators conducted interviews with witnesses and obtained certain physical evidence in connection to the alleged incident.

That evidence led police to charge 41-year-old Larry Allen Carroll Jr. with rape, aggravated sodomy, obstructing emergency telephone call, battery, cruelty to children in the third degree and theft by taking. Adairsville police note the rape, aggravated sodomy, and battery charges were all brought forth under the Family Violence Act.

Bartow County Jail records show the rape and aggravated sodomy charges are felonies, and the rest are misdemeanors. Carroll was booked into the jail on July 14 and remains held on a $10,000 bond.
