Adairsville Teen Drowns In Little River Canyon Falls
The body of Luis Angel Rodriguez was recovered June 2 from the national park in Cherokee County, Alabama.

CHEROKEE COUNTY, AL -- A body of a teenager from Bartow County was recovered Friday from the Little River Canyon National Preserve in Alabama.
The 18-year-old male went under around 1:45 p.m. June 2 while swimming with friends at Little River Falls and never returned to the surface, according to WAFF.
Cherokee County, Alabama, Coroner Dr. Jeremy Deaton identified the victim as Luis Rodriguez.

Al.com reports bystanders called 911, and National Park Service rangers and several area agencies responded to the scene. The teen's body was recovered about an hour later at the bottom of the falls, AL.com adds.
According to an obituary posted by Thomas Funeral Home, Luis Angel Rodriguez was born in Bartow County on Oct. 28, 1998, to Angel Rodriguez and Maria Eduviques.

A funeral mass will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, June 5, with Father Joe Shute officiating. Rodriguez is survived by brothers, Christopher Rodriguez and Diego E. Rodriguez; and sisters, Liliana Rodriquez and Julyssa Rodriguez.
