Advocates For Children Rolls Out Give By Text Function
The new Text2Give platform allows donors to give using their cell phones by texting ADVOCHILD to 243725.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- In the spirit of the season, Advocates for Children will once again join the #GivingTuesday celebration on Nov. 29, inspiring meaningful giving to advance its mission of the prevention and treatment of child abuse in all its forms.
Alongside a giving rally at Friendship Plaza, Advocates for Children is working to make donating even easier with the introduction of a give by text function.
This new Text2Give platform allows donors to give using their cell phones. The mobile channel offers people an easy and secure way to give. Those wanting to use this function should text ADVOCHILD to 243725. Donations can then be made with a credit or debit card through a secure, user-friendly mobile giving link that is provided.

Text2Give, online, and in person donations will be options for those who drop by the giving rally from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29. Staff and volunteers will be on hand at Friendship Plaza in Cartersville next to the depot to accept donations and hand out goodies, including a limited number of Chick-fil-A menu item coupons for those donating $10 or more.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to work hand in hand with the community to raise both awareness and support,” said Advocates for Children President and CEO Karen White. “Not only will Friendship Plaza be local rally point for people to come together to give, it is our chance to thank supporters.”

Coinciding with Thanksgiving and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday was designed to inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the nonprofits and causes they support and help create a better world.
This is not the first year that Advocates for Children has participated in the annual event that always occurs the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Last year the organization, which helps children and families in Northwest Georgia, raised more than $31,000 in its #GivingTuesday efforts.
Donations made to Advocates for Children will benefit the programs run by the nonprofit organization. Each year, more than 3,000 children and families are provided with a safe place to live through the Flowering Branch Children’s Shelter, parenting education and resource disbursement through Hope in Your Home and First Steps, support and services through a Better Way Children’s Advocacy Center, help for abused and neglected children in the juvenile court system through the Court Appointed Special Advocates program, grief and loss support groups through Rainbows, workshops for parents going through divorce with its TransParenting program, and other services.
These programs are available to children and parents at no cost to them except a fee for materials in the TransParenting class.
