Advocates Sell Over 21,000 Ducks Ahead of Annual Derby

Online sales for the Advocates for Children 2015 Duck Derby have been shut down early due to over 21,000 ducks being sold as of Thursday evening.

The organization announced the news Oct. 1, and noted only 1,000 more duck adoptions can be accepted leading up to its annual event.
Ducks adoptions must be delivered in person to the Advocates for Children administrative office, 49 Monroe Crossing in Cartersville, on Friday, Oct. 2 between 8:30 a.m. and noon.

“The Advocates staff, board of directors and Duck Derby committee are extremely grateful for the generosity and support given by each person that has purchased, sold or encouraged others to purchase ducks,” the organization said.
On Saturday, over 21,000 rubber ducks will hit the waters of Terminus Wake Park for the 14th annual Advocates for Children Duck Derby.
The grand prize for this year’s Duck Derby is a guaranteed $10,000, with a chance of winning an additional $1 million. The $10,000 grand prize is sponsored by Kennesaw Transportation and KTI Logistics. The Million Dollar Duck is sponsored by Terry Reid Buick GMC Hyundai and Reid Ridge Lodge.
Duck Derby is a fun event for the whole community and a great way to raise money for the 3,000 children and families that receive the many services provided by Advocates for Children.
