Allatoona Lake Now Accepting Campsite Reservations
In the past, about 10 percent of Allatoona's campsite were only available on an in-person, first-come, first-serve basis.
CARTERSVILLE, GA — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Allatoona Lake Project Management Office is now accepting reservations in advance for all campsites for the 2018 camping season. In the past, about 10 percent of Allatoona's campsite were only available on an in-person, first-come, first-serve basis, the federal agency said.
McKinney Campground, which is open year-round, will begin accepting reservations immediately for all of its campsites. Reservations for the remaining campsites at Allatoona Lake can be made up to six months before the start of the 2018 camping season at each site.
Project officials hope that by taking reservations in advance for all campsites, it will provide the public with more predictability. Reservations can be made by visiting Recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777.
