• Cartersville police seize enough fentanyl to kill 8,000 in traffic stop arrest (fox5atlanta.com) — Cartersville police say a local man was arrested after a traffic stop turned up trafficking-level amounts of fentanyl and methamphetamine that officials estimate could have caused thousands of overdoses. Officers stopped an SUV for expired registration, chased down a fleeing passenger, and now the suspect faces multiple trafficking and obstruction charges while investigators withhold some details of the case.
• Thursday's local softball roundup: Lady Canes win battle of region unbeatens, Adairsville improves to 5-1 in region play (bartowsportszone.com) — Cartersville's Lady Canes stayed unbeaten in Region 7-5A with a five-inning perfect game by pitcher Presley Crabbe in a 9–0 win at Villa Rica, taking sole possession of first place.
