• Drug bust recovers enough fentanyl to potentially cause 8,000 overdose deaths (wsbradio.com) — Cartersville police say a routine traffic stop in the city led to the arrest of a suspected trafficker and the seizure of fentanyl they estimate could have caused thousands of overdose deaths. Investigators report the drugs were allegedly obtained in metro Atlanta but intended for distribution in Cartersville, and the suspect now faces trafficking and obstruction charges.
   

• Lady Canes power past North Cobb Christian, Cedartown (daily-tribune.com) — Cartersville High's Lady Canes volleyball team continued their strong season by sweeping North Cobb Christian and Cedartown at the Storm Center to improve to 13-1.
