• Six churches open their doors for the Jubilee Year of St. Francis (georgiabulletin.org) — Cartersville's St. Francis of Assisi Church has been named one of six official pilgrimage sites for the Year of St. Francis, inviting locals and visitors to pair prayer with walks on nearby trails and fields. Running through January 2027, the jubilee offers indulgences for pilgrims who visit, with the parish highlighting its diverse, 1,000‑family community and Franciscan‑themed sanctuary windows.
• Georgia Today: Governor candidates campaign; Measles cases rise; Georgia opens first baby box (gpb.org) — Cartersville's proposed 200‑megawatt data center just cleared a key hurdle, with the city council approving variances that move the project closer to construction on a 67‑acre site. In the same statewide news roundup, you'll also hear about Georgia's measles outbreak, the first Safe Haven Baby Box, lithium production in Covington, and other political and public health updates.
