Today's riddle: Why do some birds fly south for the winter? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• Canes wallop Bulldogs, 52-8 (bartowsportszone.com) — Cartersville's Purple Hurricanes dominated Cedartown 52-8 on Friday, staying undefeated at 7-0 and 3-0 in region play behind big nights from quarterback Harris Turner and running back Tyon Coe. A swarming defense added three takeaways and a pick-six, and now the Canes return to Weinman Stadium this Friday to host Allatoona in another key region matchup.
• US solar producers near breakthrough (arkansasonline.com) — Cartersville gets a notable mention as Hanwha Qcells pours billions into new solar manufacturing lines in Georgia, including a facility here that's part of a push toward next‑generation tandem solar panels. These higher‑output panels could help the U.S. challenge China's dominance in solar manufacturing, though questions remain about long‑term durability, cost, and political support for large new solar projects.
• Trevor Lawrence's wife, daughter cheer on Jaguars QB in London win (nypost.com) — Cartersville gets a proud shout‑out as Trevor Lawrence and his wife Marissa, who met at Cartersville High School, celebrate a last‑second Jaguars win in London with their young daughter Shae. The piece follows Marissa's game‑day posts, the family's growing Jaguars‑themed traditions abroad, and the couple's expanding family as they expect their second child while Lawrence continues to shine at quarterback.
