Apply Now For Bartow County Homestead Exemptions

The deadline to apply for an exemption is April 1.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — The deadline to file for a homestead exemption in Bartow County is April 1, the county said.

The exemption is open to anyone who owns and resides in their home on Jan. 1, and reduces the amount of property taxes owed on your residence. Any applications submitted after April 1 will be processed for the following tax year.

Please note that rental properties do not qualify for any exemptions, the county adds. Once a homestead exemption is granted, it will automatically renew each year, unless the exemption is based on income or if the deed has changed.
