CARTERSVILLE, GA -- Cartersville police investigators are working to track down the suspect who seemingly showed good manners while robbing a local jewelry store.

Police were dispatched around 8:18 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19 to a call of an armed robbery at Kay Jewelers at 440 Cherokee Place.

Once told the time of the store's closure, the caller announced he was on his way. A short time later, a man walked into the store, allegedly held up a white plastic bag containing a silver handgun and told the employees to hand over the jewelry.

"The male subject stated that if they did not do what he wanted, he would shoot them," the responding officer wrote in the report.

Before leaving the establishment, one witness said the man stated, "Now you can call the cops. Thank you for your services."

The suspect ran out the door and was seeing getting into a black sedan, possibly a black Toyota Corolla. Witnesses described the suspect as a black male about 5'10'' tall, and was wearing a black, long-sleeved knit shirt, jeans, a white medical mask and gloves.

Three shelves of jewelry was reported missing from the store. Also, detectives were able to recover at least three pieces of jewelry from the business's parking lot.
