Baked Goods and Backyard Farms Event Set For Aug. 6
The Bartow History Museum will combine its annual bake sale with a chance to learn about local farming.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The Bartow History Museum will host a fundraiser designed to help its operations and give residents an inside look at local farming.
The Baked Goods and Backyard Farms event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6. This unique event combines the organization's annual fundraiser with a look at local farming.
Organizers say they want to provide members and visitors the opportunity to "dig into history and discover how farming has evolved over the years in Bartow County and its impact on the community, while also giving individuals who have a curiosity in hobby farming, the chance to cultivate their interests," the History Museum said in a press release.

To make this event a reality, organizers are teaming up with several local UGA Extension offices, Bartow County master gardeners and Tony Ross of YNot Apiary.
These partners will be on hand to share their knowledge on a number of subjects including raising backyard chickens, becoming a bee keeper, planting herbs and growing your own organic garden. As an added feature, members of the Gordon County Antique Engine and Tractor Club will be displaying an assortment of antique tractors that are sure to delight the young and old.
