Bartow County Hosts Scrap Tire Amnesty Days

The county received a grant from the Environmental Protection Division to help remove these tires from the right-of-way and certain sites.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — The Bartow County government has received a grant from the Georgia Environmental Protection Division to help clean up a form of waste in the community.

The Local Government Scrap Tire Abatement Reimbursement Program covers the costs of removing, transporting, and processing scrap tires cleaned up from identified, state-listed scrap tire dumps. It also covers the removal of scrap tires from city and county right-of-ways and the collection of this material during during scrap tire amnesty events.

As part of the program, Keep Bartow Beautiful will host events allowing you to get rid of these scrap tires. Upcoming dates and locations are:

  • April 7: Ladds Collection Center, 40 Ladds Mountain Road, Cartersville
  • April 19-21: Allatoona Collection Center, 6507 Glade Road, Acworth
  • May 5: Casey Lake Collection Center, 4792 Joe Frank Harris Parkway, Adairsville
