Here are the top three stories today in Cartersville:

  1. According to the Georgia Department of Health, new COVID-19 cases in Bartow are down. New confirmed cases in Bartow total 35 with five new hospitalizations and one new death. In total Bartow has had 24,768 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 1,398 hospitalizations and 402 deaths. (WBHF via Facebook)
  2. Bartow County's August recorded unemployment rate of 2.8% is up three-tenths over the month. Unemployment claims were up 4%, but claims were down about 25% when compared to last August. (Northwest Georgia News)
  3. Seven juried artists were awarded cash prizes totaling $1,000 at the 47th Annual Rose Lawn Arts Festival. Of those seven winning artists, four live in Bartow County. (wbhfradio.org)
