Bartow Deputies Investigate Travel Center Armed Robbery
The suspect, described as a white male in his 20s, held up the center on Cass-White Road in unincorporated Cartersville

The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office is asking its constituents to help them track down a suspect who robbed Travel Center of America on Monday.
Around 12:39 a.m. Nov. 17, deputies with the agency were dispatched to the facility at 981 Cass-White Road in unincorporated Cartersville.
According to the store clerk, the suspect — a white male in his 20s who was brandishing a handgun — approached the sales counter and told the clerk, “I want your money,” the sheriff’s office said in a press release.

“The store clerk thought this to be non-incidental until the male subject walked behind the counter and asked about the workings of the drawer,” the agency added.
The clerk told the suspect a password was needed to open the drawer, but the suspect moved towards the clerk, lifted the gun and said, “I don’t want to use it,” the sheriff’s office said.

The clerk unlocked both cash drawers and the suspect grabbed as much money as he could before leaving the store through the front door. The suspect took roughly $356 from the business.
The suspect reportedly had blonde hair and was wearing a dark colored leather jacket, gray shirt, dark colored pants, a dark colored baseball cap and square shaped work boots.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the sheriff’s office’s Criminal Investigations Division at 770-302-5050 ext. 3029.
