Bartow Fire Services Extinguish Two Fires On Thursday

Two fires happened Thursday in Bartow County, but no injuries were reported in either instance.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — Two fires happened Thursday in Bartow County, but no injuries were reported in either instance.

At 1:50 p.m. on March 3, fire crews went to 100 Piedmont Avenue in Adairsville to a structure fire. Bartow County 911 reported occupants were evacuating the house and heavy smoke was coming from the building.

Officials saw heavy fire from the back of the home, and heavy smoke and fire coming from the eaves. The structure had extensive damage, but no injuries were reported. Red Cross was called to assist the occupants.

The fire was under control within 20 minutes, but crews remained for more than four hours to extinguish remaining hot spots, helps the residents and complete the fire cause investigation.

The fire was determined to be accidental, possibly caused by an overloaded electrical circuit.

At 8 p.m., fire crews were called to 10 Pine Needle Trail in Acworth for a mobile home fire.

Dispatch said the fire was in the kitchen and all occupants were evacuating.

Light smoke was reported by fire officials, and the occupants had extinguished the majority of the fire with a water hose before the fire department arrived.

Fire crews extinguished remaining hot spots and helped the residents.

The cause of the fire was accidental, with moderate damage to the home. No injuries were reported.
