Bartow Fugitive Operation Ends in Chase, Crash
Acworth resident Christopher Dwayne Danner has been charged with a slew of weapons, traffic and drug offenses stemming from the incident.

Acworth, GA -- An operation to nab a fugitive wanted on narcotics charges resulted in the suspect crashing a vehicle Wednesday evening in southern Bartow County.

The operation, which was set to occur around 4 p.m. location off Blackacre Trail, propelled the Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force to request help from the Georgia State Patrol, according to The Daily Tribune News.
Mark Mayton, commander of the Drug Task Force, said the suspect, 45-year-old Christopher Dwayne Danner of Acworth, had “numerous outstanding felony warrants as well as a weapons charge.”

Officers made contact with the suspect at the location, but Danner began to flee in a four-door vehicle, the Tribune reports.
Mayton said the crash ended at a location along Groovers Landing Road near S.R. 293.
Mayton added new charges were tacked on to Danner’s rap sheet. He was not seriously injured during the pursuit, and refused treatment by EMS crews at the scene.
No public safety officials were injured in the operation or crash, he added.
Danner was booked into the Bartow County Jail late Wednesday evening two counts each of possession of methamphetamine, possession of firearms by a convicted felon, probation violation and theft by receiving stolen property; and one count each of fleeing or attempting to elude police officer, reckless driving, driving on the wrong side of the road, improper passing, driving while license withdrawn and theft by deception.
He remains held without bond.
