- First-time claims for unemployment insurance in Bartow saw an increase at the end of 2022. According to the Georgia Department of Labor, there were 356 claims filed in December, which is up from 245 in November and 182 in December of 2021. (wrganews.com)
- The complimentary MoneyMasters Workshop will see Bartow County Extension and Modern Woodmen of America teaming up to provide five financial education sessions, starting Feb. 1. Each workshop will begin at 6 p.m. at 320 W. Cherokee Ave. in the Stiles Auditorium. The classes will be led by Garth Gherardini, managing partner for Modern Woodmen of America and will highlight a different topic every week; budgeting, Feb. 1; credit scores and reports, Feb. 8; debt management, Feb. 15; identity theft and fraud, Feb. 22; and budgeting obstacles, March 1.
