Bartow Man Charged With 50 Counts of Child Sex Exploitation

ACWORTH, GA -- A Bartow County man has been arrested on charges he allegedly downloaded dozens of child pornographic images.

Ryan Jay Erikson, 24, of Acworth was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 3 and charged with 50 counts of sexual exploitation of children, the Bartow County Sheriff's Office said.

The agency was informed May 2016 by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation of the possibility that child pornography was being downloaded at a home in the county, the sheriff's office said.

Following an extensive and thorough investigation, Erikson was booked into the Bartow County Jail and is being held without bond.
