- At a March 8 public meeting, Cartersville-Bartow County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Transportation Planner Tom Sills updated the community about the ongoing road projects around Bartow. Regarding the Beavers Drive roundabout, he said, "It's basically constructed, we're waiting on the Beavers Drive realignment. And the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will eliminate the four-way stop at the gas station." Sidewalk projects near Allatoona Elementary and another near Grassdale and Cassville roads are still in the planning stages. Several other projects were discussed, which you can read about here. - A 30-year-old man charged with a 2021 murder has been granted bond. He has been accused of murdering a woman with a hammer in Acworth. Having been incarcerated for more than 90 days, he is entitled by Georgia law to a bond and it was set at $750,000. If released from jail, he is to reside at his father's home. (wbhfradio.org)
- Bartow County will be under a freeze warning this morning until 11:00 a.m. We will also be under a freeze watch tonight until Wednesday morning. (Bartow County Fire and Emergency Services via Facebook)
