Bartow Schools Announce Make-Up Day For December Snow

The make-up day, originally set aside as a student holiday and professional development day, will be held in March.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — Students in the Bartow County School System will have to make up one missed school day due to the widespread winter weather that blew through the area in December.

The system said Wednesday that it's scheduled the make-up day for March 9 due to the system having to cancel classes on Dec. 11 because of the inclement weather and power outages. March 9 was originally set aside as a student holiday and professional development day for teachers.

"We hope this early notice will give students and families time to adjust their personal schedules," the system added.

BCSS added that if your child did not attend classes on Dec. 8 "due to the unprecedented snowfall amounts," that absence will be considered excused.

"Again, thank you for your patience as we navigate through our unpredictable seasons," the school system added. "We always strive to keep your children safe and provide the very best classroom instruction."
