Bartow Sheriff's Deputy Involved in 3-Vehicle Accident

A deputy with the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a three-vehicle accident Monday evening.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, a 2014 Jeep Patriot driven by A.F. Law was stopped at the intersection of S.R. 113 at Burnt Hickory Road. Sitting behind the Jeep was a marked Bartow County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle, a 2008 Crown Victoria driven by deputy K.A. Bunch.
A 2004 GMC Envoy, driven by K.E. Manderson, slammed into the Crown Victoria in the rear with the front of its vehicle, forcing the patrol vehicle to strike the rear of the Jeep Patriot with its front of its car.

Georgia State Patrol Assistant Post Commander Sgt. Joseph Stephens said charges are pending, as the investigation into the crash is “not complete at this time.”
Bartow County Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Brad Cothran said the three drivers were transported to Cartersville Medical Center for “various injuries.”
