Bartow Sheriff's Office Now Hiring 9-1-1 Dispatchers
Communications officers are responsible for answering, prioritizing and dispatching police, fire or medical personnel to calls of service.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office E-911 Center is now accepting applications for the position of communication officer. Communications officers, commonly referred to as 9-1-1 dispatchers, are assigned to receive, prioritize and dispatch emergency and non-emergency law enforcement, fire and medical calls of service.
No experience is required to be considered for the position, which has a starting salary ranging from $29,244.80 to $29,827.20 (dependent on any applicable education, military and job experience).

Officers will also receive between $5,700 and $21,400 in medical and dental insurance costs paid each year by the county. Long term disability insurance is provided at no cost. An employee contribution retirement plan is included, with the county matching up to 4 percent.

Newly hired communications officers will have access to and work with sensitive and lawfully protected information. This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, possess valid driver’s license, have stable employment history, an honorable discharge from the military (if applicable), no felony convictions or pattern of misdemeanor convictions (including traffic violations).
In addition, applicants must pass a listening skills test and provide acceptable or passing test scores from one of the following tests: SAT, ACT, COMPASS, or ASSET. Applicants to this position must pass a background investigation, which includes a polygraph and psychological evaluation; interview; and drug screen.
