Bartow Teen Dies From Gunshot Wound

BREAKING: The 17-year-old male was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen Tuesday evening at a home near Acworth.

ACWORTH, GA — A Bartow County teenager died Tuesday evening from a gunshot wound he sustained in the abdomen.

Deputies with the Bartow County Sheriff's Office and emergency personnel responded around 5 p.m. Oct. 11 to a home in the 4800 block of Ryan Road near Acworth.

Crews arrived on the scene to find Kyle Sheriff, 17, in the home "with a gunshot wound to the abdomen," said sheriff's office spokesperson Sgt. Jonathan Rogers.

Rogers said the teenager was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

Sheriff's office detectives are investigating the incident, and an autopsy will be conducted later this week by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Medical Examiner's Office.
