Here are the top three stories in Cartersville today:
- Anheuser-Busch and the National Volunteer Fire Council are providing Georgia fire departments with Emergency Drinking Water to support wildfire relief efforts. The water will be sourced locally from Anheuser-Busch's brewery in Cartersville which periodically pauses beer production to can emergency drinking water to support disaster relief efforts in partnership with the American Red Cross and the NVFC. - Bartow County Sheriff's Office is searching for man accused of trespassing and damaging property. Sheriff's deputies responded to a suspicious trespasser on June 22. The accused began looking at furniture the victim had placed outside for pick-up, but moved on to looking inside the home. Upon spotting cameras in the window, he began coloring with what appeared to be paint or a marker on the victim's window . The man then covered the window with the cardboard sign that the victim had left outside and left before deputies arrived at the property.(WSB-TV)
- The Cartersville City Schools Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, July 11. Highlights included recognition of summer graduates, vendors and bid extensions, insurance, personnel recommendations and membership approval. The next regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting will be on Monday, August 8 at 6 p.m. at the Board of Education, 15 Nelson Street.(WBHF)
