BCSO Seeks Law Enforcement Academy Applications (ICYMI)
Citizens who want to qualify for the program must complete and return the application for processing and a background check by Aug. 29.

BARTOW COUNTY, GA — The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office wants residents to consider joining its upcoming Citizens Law Enforcement Academy. The 10-week program, which will meet Tuesdays and on one Saturday, begins Sept. 11 and wraps up Nov. 6.
The academy exposes class members to every aspect of law enforcement, including firearms, personal safety, jail procedures, administrative duties, criminal investigations, patrol operations 9-1-1 operations, court services, warrants and civil division, crime scene investigations, narcotics/K-9s, CPR certification and much more. Participants will have the opportunity to do up to three ride-alongs with eligible deputies.
Class members must be residents of Bartow County and at least 18 years old to participate in the program. Bartow County citizens who desire to qualify for the program must complete and return the application for processing and background check completion by Aug. 29. There is no charge for the class.

"This program has been a big success and the primary benefit of the program is building a closer relationship with the citizens we serve," Sheriff Millsap said.

Applications may be picked up at the Bartow County Sheriff's Office's administrative lobby from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. They can also be emailed upon request.
