Boil Water Advisory Issued For Some Emerson Residents

A water main break is causing water pressure issues within the city of Emerson’s water system, and the city is urging some residents to boil their water until further notice.

Citizens who have experienced water outages and/or low water pressures due to the break are advised to boil all water prior to use for drinking, cooking or preparing baby food.
The water should be boiled for at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil. Resident should continue to boil their water until they are notified by Emerson officials “that the water system has been restored to full operation and that the microbiological quality of the water in the distribution system is safe for human consumption,” the city said.

This advisory does not include the Waterside Water System or the LakePoint Water System.
Residents who may have questions should call Emerson City Hall at (770) 382-9819 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
