Here are the top three stories in Cartersville today:

  1. BCSO records indicate that a Cartersville man has been held in continuous custody at Bartow County jail since Oct. 13, 2021, but his case has yet to be indicted by a grand jury. The presiding judge accepted the request to grant an own recognizance bond, meaning the defendant would not have to pay a bond of any amount in order to be released from pre-trial detention. 2. Flu activity is widespread in Georgia already – earlier than in recent years. This year's flu vaccine is widely available, so don't wait any longer to get it. (wbhfradio.org)
  3. Night of Life, held annually since 2012, raises awareness and funds for Bartow Family Resources. The concert-style event will be Oct. 22 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at LakePoint Champions Center in Emerson. (Subscription: The Daily Tribune News)
