Bone Marrow Donor Registry Drive Set For Wednesday

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The Cartersville Medical Center will host a bone marrow donor drive next week at its facility in Cartersville.

The drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 20 in Classroom 1. Next week's event is inspired by a 19-year-old University of West Georgia student named Bayley Whittle.

A three-sport athlete who graduated from Gordon Central High School, Whittle was recently diagnosed with an advanced stage of non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and leukemia.

Whittle is in need of a bone marrow transplant, and is looking for that person who could be his life-saving match.
