Booth Museum Opens Annual Artists Guild Exhibition

Booth Western Art Museum has opened the third annual Booth Artists’ Guild Exhibition in Borderlands Gallery.

On display through Aug. 16, this juried exhibition features 54 works of art by 54 artists who are members of the Booth Artists’ Guild (BAG). An opening reception was held May 21 for the exhibit.

For the annual showcase, the pieces were chosen for their quality and uniqueness. Of the 54 artists represented in the exhibition, they range as far south as Texas and as far north as New York, 14 live in Bartow County and four are sculptors.

The group meets monthly for educational artistic programs. Booth Museum Volunteer Coordinator & Group Scheduling, BAG Liaison and BAG member Marcia Dillard explained the importance of this exhibit.

“As interest in Booth Western Art Museum continues to grow, talented artists have emerged from amongst our members,” Dillard said.

The Booth Artists’ Guild was formed in March 2010 and initially planned to offer continuing art education on a monthly basis to its members.

Meeting on the first Tuesday of each month, BAG members hear programs on various types of art as well as methods for photographing and marketing our work.

The Booth Artists’ Guild strives to serve as a springboard for creative talents by offering programs, workshops and demonstrations on a wide range of mediums, genres, marketing techniques and more.

Dillard added BAG membership is all members of the Booth Western Art Museum.

“Therefore, our 200 plus Guild members live all over the United States, representing a vast geographic diversity,” she added.
