Booth's Junior Artists Make a Splash

From sculptures to paintings and everything in between, Cartersville's Junior Artists put on an impressive display.

More than 150 Cartersvillians turned out Friday evening for the Booth Art Academy Junior Artists gallery exhibit.

Eighty-nine students ranging in ages from 4 to 15 who participated in the summer art program had their finest work on display for family members and friends in authentic gallery style. Camp participants had the opportunity to express themselves through painting, cartooning, and pottery under the instruction of various artists ranging from local art teachers and employees.

Attendees of Friday’s festivities had the chance to put their own creativity to the test with an entire room devoted to painting and basket weaving, as well as a variety of outdoor art activities ranging from sand art to sidewalk chalk.

The Booth Art Academy’s fall schedule of classes is already available and spaces will fill up quickly.

“We will have drawing and cartooning, pottery and home school activities in the fall,” said Booth Art Academy Manager Natalie Goodwin. “The summer was a huge success and our junior volunteers did a fantastic job helping the kids. We couldn’t have done it without them. This program is really great for children to get involved in.”
