The Pettit Preserve in Bartow County, Georgia recently hosted a Birding 201 class presented by Rebecca Byrd (yep that is her last name) and Ken Blankenship of the Atlanta Audubon Society.

I am not a novice when it comes to birds...but know I have more to learn. Rebecca and Ken helped fill in the blanks. If you are going to bird in Georgia then you must check out Ken's website Wings Over Georgia, An Online Guide to Birds In Georgia. His website is amazing! It led me to the low land swamp at the end of Hardin Bridge Road for some great bird sightings. What a trilling place to bird as I have gotten 2 additions to my Birding Life List!

This was a cold day but a good day to visit this pristine wildlife friendly wonderland. Eastern Bluebirds and Pheobees were heard. Eastern White-tails were seen.
Many thanks to the gracious Director Miranda Robertson for hosting this event!
