DO YOU HAVE SOUL?

One begins to wonder about an afterlife when faced with our own mortality but isn't it wise to question and seek answers to faith based issues early in life?

I began this discourse with animals in mind.  I heard on FOX News not long ago we spent over 700 million on our furry, feathered, scaly extended family last year so do we believe they have souls and will join us in an afterlife or are they here at our leisure and pleasure only?

I belong to several animal groups and in one the issue of animals having souls brought forth a plethora of comments, so many I couldn't read them all. So I decided to google for myself the view with regard to the handing out of souls by mainstream religion.  I did not expect to find that women having souls is also controversial, to some.  Being an inquisitive woman and raised in a family of Methodist, Baptist, Evangelical male ministers my first thought was did they omit to tell me I'm not allowed in Heaven on purpose? Is there a man out there who doesn't wish to see his daughter or wife or mother again one day?

There is however the 1/350th theory which may save us women.  The theory is that since the human body is made up of 350 bones and God only needed one from Adam to create Eve then 350 individual women may be allowed to meld into one woman and possibly be given a soul in Heaven.  Wonder where this idea was hatched? It is a slim avenue to allow women to enter the Pearly Gates though and I'd wager a few men started wondering about who would do the cleaning in Heaven.

Corinthians 1 and 2 are epistles or sermons given by the Apostle Paul, commandments given by God, where he admonishes women not to talk in Church, gives instruction about covering of heads and so forth and is used by many groups in an attempt to interpret God's view with respect to animal and woman and 1Timothy 2:11 "suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence" is quoted quite a bit.  Landover Baptist Church and Jonathan Edwards believe "the sole (?) reason God created women in the first place was to provide company and service to man (1Corinthians 11:9) women are therefore subordinate to man (1 Corinthians 11:3).

Should women file a class action with God and petition for individual souls, have the 1/350th rule overturned? I feel certain that when I pass I'll meet my Creator along with those I've loved to include males and animals just as I am certain to ask many questions, analyze and get to the root of an issue rather than take the word of anyone who states an unsubstantiated truth.

Do you believe something, anything just because an expert, whether religious icon or politician, says that it is the truth?

Many politicians take up the sword of God, that to deny their party's ideas and ideals one is also denying the word of God.

More important, do we, men and women alike, allow others to interpret and disseminate information based solely on individual bias to gender or race or in any situation where one faction or group seeks superiority over another do we turn and look away?
