Patch Pet of the Week: Denny, the Chocolate Lab
Denny is 3 years old, so he's done with some of the annoying puppy behaviors. It does take a while for these large breeds to mature, so he's at the perfect age to add to your family.
One of the most popular breeds of dogs in the United States is the Labrador Retriever. Denny is a beautiful version of Lab, with a rich chocolately brown coat. Labs are valued as family dogs since they often love kids, are very calm and not easily flustered.
Since they were originally bred as duck hunters, they often have webbed feet and love the water, which is great for swimming at Lake Allatoona. Denny is three years old, so he's done with some of the annoying puppy behaviors. It does take awhile for these large breeds to mature, so he's at the perfect age to add to your family.
Drop by the campus at 36 Ladds Mountain Road, Cartersville to see Denny and all of the other adoptable dogs and cats that are ready to go home with you. They have all been fully vetted, heartworm tested and have been neutered. All EVHS animals come with a microchip so that they can easily be returned to their owners if lost. Adoption applications are available at www.etowahvalleyhumane.org and adoption fees are $175 for dogs and puppies and $125 for cats and kittens. Call 770-383-3338 for further information if you're interested in adopting an animal.
