I believe the tornado which "passed" through Rome this past week would give some cause to re-think what is not only possible outside the realm of physical but to also take note of long held values and beliefs of what the next life, other dimensions and after life may hold. Having experienced "the wind" in all its glory I am humbled and in awe of its power and yet I ask....
Who has seen the wind? I remember this particular poem from my fourth grade class. The poem became a catalyst. I spent endless hours outside contemplating clouds and their formations, stars and planets and of course the wind. Where did the wind come from? And why can I not see the wind? I began my writing career as a poet and started to question my parents, teachers, peers and whomever would listen. I asked questions about nature, the wind, the air, anything and everything.
I remember we had a lineman from Georgia Power come give a speech on electricity and my question, "Where does the power go to when I turn OFF the light switch?" received a look and a shrug from the lineman but not an answer. I thought it was a relevant question.
Just as electrical currents course through the air to power up cell phones and other modern luxuries the wind stirs not only trees and emotions of little girls it can also build up momentum to destroy, maim and kill. It is energy. Just as you and I are made up of energy. But who is in control of that energy?
What is possible outside the realm of physical? Who has "seen" a ghost or heard a sound or felt a tap or sensed something not within the boundaries of physical?
Do you allow for possibilities or do you push the wind into the recesses of your mind and chalk it all up to having a vivid imagination? What have you seen lately that causes you to reassess and review your current beliefs?
