Brewery Sends Drinking Water For Hurricane Michael Relief

CARTERSVILLE, GA — Anheuser-Busch is sending six truckloads of canned drinking water to areas in Georgia and Florida that were devastated by the wrath of Hurricane Michael. More than 300,000 cans of water was sent for relief at the request of the American Red Cross.

Two truckloads of emergency drinking water were sent late last week to Anheuser-Busch wholesaler partners Tri-Eagle Sales in Midway, Florida, and The Lewis Bear Company in Ebro, Florida, to support with disaster relief efforts.

Four additional truckloads will be delivered early next week to support communities in Georgia and Florida which were impacted by the storm. These shipments will be delivered to Johnson Distributing Co. in Valdosta, Albany Beverage Co in Albany and The Lewis Bear Company in Ebro, Florida, who will work with the American Red Cross to distribute the emergency drinking water to those in need.

The water will be transported from Anheuser-Busch's Cartersville brewery which, along with the Fort Collins brewery in Colorado, periodically pauses beer production throughout the year to can drinking water to be ready to help communities in times of disaster.

For over 30 years, Anheuser-Busch has partnered with the American Red Cross to provide emergency drinking water for disaster relief efforts. Since 1988, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesaler partners have provided more than 79 million cans of water to U.S. communities affected by natural disasters nationwide.
