Here are the top three stories in Cartersville today:
- The bridge over I-75 at Cassville White Road will close this weekend for further roundabout construction. Closure times will start Friday at 7:30 p.m. and last until Monday at 5:30 a.m. (wbhfradio.org)
- The Georgia Department of Education has named all of Bartow County's high schools as "Advanced Placement (AP) Honor Schools." Cass, Adairsville and Woodland high schools all received the AP STEM School Award. Both Woodland and Adairsville received the AP Humanities School Award, while Woodland was also awarded with an AP STEM Achievement School Award. All three schools will be presented with their awards at the Bartow County Board of Education meeting on May 15. (wbhfradio.org)
- Cartersville's recent Dances with the Stars competition has raised over $273,000 for the Good Neighbor Homeless Shelter. For 11 years, Cartersville's DWTS competition has benefited the Good Neighbor Homeless Shelter's "transitional housing initiative and the Cartersville/Bartow County school systems' homeless education programs."
