- Two bridges on S.R. 20 over Etowah River and over S.R. 293 and CSX railroad in Bartow County;
- Bridge on S.R. 61/S.R. 113 over Pettit Creek in Bartow County;
- Two bridges on S.R. 1 Loop over Etowah River and Etowah River overflow in Floyd County; and
- Two bridges on S.R. 1 over Norfolk Southern railroad and Spring Creek in Floyd County.
GDOT states these seven bridges were built at various times throughout the late 1920s, 1940s, 1950s and early 1960s.
While they were all modified to meet modern bridge rail requirements in the 1990s and 2000s, they have not been fully rehabilitated since their initial construction.
This $6.1 million rehabilitation project will bring much need structural improvements, which will extensively lengthen the life of these bridges.
This construction project is scheduled to be completed by the end of March 2017. Information on construction and lane closure schedules on this project will be forthcoming before work begins.
