Burglary Suspect Found Inside Woman's Car: Police

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a burglary on Wednesday in Cartersville.

Cartersville police have charged Martize Dajuan Edwards with burglary as well as entering auto, loitering and prowling and criminal trespass.
He was also arrested on a warrant issued by Riverdale police on a failure to appear charge.

Officers were dispatched March 30 to a home on Courtyard Lane. The woman said when she went into her garage, she "discovered a male inside of her vehicle," said spokesperson Lt. Mike Bettikofer.
After responding to the scene, a member of the Cartersville Police Department's Special Operations Unit located the suspect, identified as Edwards, walking in the neighborhood.
During questioning by police investigators, Edwards allegedly admitted to breaking into the garage and unlawfully entering the resident's vehicle.
Bartow County Jail records show Edwards was booked into the facility around 10:30 a.m. March 30 where he remains held without bond.
