Calling All Collectors, Amateurs: RockFest This Weekend
One of the largest gem and rock shows in Georgia happens at Tellus Science Museum on Saturday and Sunday.

About 3,000 people visited for last year and officials expect that many or more this weekend as the museum again hosts the 2-day event.
One of the largest gem and rock shows in Georgia with 30 vendors from all over the country, RockFest also will feature activities for children, including Rock Bingo, in which kids win prizes; Tellus bag and slap bracelet decorating; and faux dinosaur tattoos.
“RockFest is a great event for the whole family. Gem and mineral enthusiasts as well as amateur collectors and regular visitors will get to see unique gems and minerals and fossils from all over the world,” said Director of Marketing Joe Shulman.

Visitors are welcome to bring rocks and fossils for curatorial to help identify and new items will be on display in the museum's Fossil and Mineral galleries.
“A summer event like RockFest is the perfect way to spend a weekend because of the educational activities combined with the fun of seeing new and unique items,” Schulman said.
