That means residents will pay sightly more in property taxes this year than they did in 2014.
Cartersville Finance Director Tom Rhinehart said that increase could amount to just under $3.30 for a house valued at $100,000, the Tribune states.
The council also adopted the City School System’s millage rate of 16.82 mills, the Cartersville Business Improvement District rate of 2.42 mills (the rollback rate) and the 2015 recreation bond rate of 1.10 mills.
The rate for the recreation bond stems from voters in November 2014 authorizing the city to issue bonds to pay for the renovations and improvements to parks and recreation facilities.
