Cartersville, Bartow County School Calendars 2017-18

Summer flies by quickly, and back-to-school is right around the corner. Here’s the 2017-18 school calendars for the Cartersville City and Bartow County school systems.

The first day of school is Tuesday, Aug. 1 for Bartow County and Wednesday, Aug. 2 for Cartesrville. Pre-planning for Cartersville City teachers will be held July 26-28, July 31 and Aug. 1 while Bartow County's pre-planning is designated for July 25-28 and July 31.

The first semester will end Dec. 15 for students in both systems, followed by a two-week winter break.

Cartersville City School System

First Semester

• Aug. 2: First Day of School
• Sept. 4: Labor Day holiday (no school)
• Oct. 16-17: Fall break
• Nov. 20-24: Thanksgiving holidays
• Dec. 15: Last day of first semester
• Dec. 18 through Jan. 1: Winter break

Second Semester

• Jan. 2: Teacher In-Service, student holiday
• Jan. 3: First day of second semester
• Jan. 15: School holiday (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday)
• Feb. 19-20: Snow days, as needed
• April 2-6: Spring break
• May 18: Last day of school/graduation
• May 21-24: Teacher post-planning

• Cartersville Primary, Cartersville Elementary and Cartersville Middle schools: $1.25
• Cartersville High School: $1.50

Lunch

• Cartersville Primary and Elementary schools: $2.25
• Cartersville Middle and High: $2.50

Bartow County School System

First Semester

• July 25-28, July 31: Teacher pre-planning
• July 31: open house for elementary (4 p.m. to 6 p.m.), middle (5 p.m. to 7 p.m.) and high school freshmen (6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.) students.
• Aug. 1: First day of school

• Oct. 16-17: School holiday
• Nov. 20-24: Thanksgiving break

Breakfast is free for all Bartow County students.

Lunch

• Elementary: $2.40 per day; $12 for one week; $48 for four weeks
• Middle and high school: $2.60 per day; $13 for one week; $52 for four weeks
• Reduced price: $.40 per day; $2 for one week; $8 for four weeks
