Cartersville Car Wash Damaged During Burglary

A hole had been kicked into the ceiling and the vinyl soffit was damaged at the Touchless Car Wash on Stone Mill Circle.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — A Cartersville car was burglarized and damaged over the weekend, according to an incident report released by the Bartow County Sheriff's Office.

A deputy was dispatched to a burglary alarm around 9:01 a.m. Sunday, April 22 at Touchless Car Wash, which is located at 42 Stone Mill Circle.

The deputy arrived and met with the resident filing the complaint, who said he does miscellaneous work around the business and responded to the location when the alarm company notified him of the possible intrusion.

According to the report, the gutter was torn and vinyl soffit was damaged and hanging from the building.

"It appeared that someone climbed up the downspout and tore the soffit open to access the office area," the deputy wrote in the report.

A survey of the damage also revealed a bent metal storage shelf and a damaged ceiling. The subject, the report notes, possibly kicked a hole in the ceiling and "jumped onto the shelf to gain entry into the office."

The alarm keypad also was torn off the wall and its mounting hardware was loosened in an effort to silence the alarm.

Nothing appeared to be missing at the time of the report. Unfortunately, the worker said he didn't believe the company's camera system was working at the time, so no details about the description of the suspects was provided in the report.
