“Over the past two years, Cartersville DDA and Main Street Program has worked to make sure information is being made available on all of the great places there are to shop, dine and play,” said Cartersville DDA/Main Street Manager Tara Currier. “Our website is seeing more than 3,000 page views per month, while our Facebook page has seen 55 percent more ‘Likes’ this year, and continues to engage thousands every week. Living in such a ‘tech-savvy’ world, a downtown app is something I have desired to have for some time. It will allow us to hopefully reach even more people, especially visitors coming into our community looking for things to see and do while they are here.”
Matching the redesign of the See, Shop & Dine brochure and downtown Cartersville website, the app lists all downtown eateries, retailers and attractions, as well as a map showing business locations. The events tab highlights the numerous downtown events, and there is easy access to the Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages of Cartersville DDA/Main Street.

It is recommended that those who download the app allow for push notifications to be sent to their mobile device, as special deals, incentives and other offers made through the DDA and downtown businesses will be shared through this mechanism throughout the year.
“I love the way the app turned out and hope that it proves to be well-used for visitors to our community and local residents,” Currier added. “Main Street Promotions Chair Lara Jeanneret, owner of Lara J Designs, has just completed design for a business card promoting the app that we look forward to disseminating to downtown businesses and around the community to help spread the word about the app. We are already discussing other ways we can promote and advertise the app not only to residents, but to those visiting our community. With so many people coming in from out of town to see our wonderful museums, attend sports tournaments at LakePoint, camp or other, this will be a great way for people to learn about all the things there are to see and do in downtown Cartersville.”
The app was produced by Populace, Inc. and paid for using funds of the Business Improvement District. Those wishing to download can search ‘Downtown Cartersville’ in the iTunes App or Google Play stores.
