Cartersville Man Charged With Entering Auto

The Cartersville Police Department has arrested a 24-year-old resident in connection to several entering auto incidents in the Wingfoot Park subdivision.

Phillip Anthony Carter Jr., who resides in Cartersville, is charged with seven counts of entering auto, prowling, probation violation and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, the agency said Thursday.
The incidents occurred overnight Dec. 13-14, and the suspect was allegedly “found to be (in) possession of stolen property at the time of his arrest,” Cartersville police said.

Additional charges are pending, and Carter remains in custody at the Bartow County Jail.
Cartersville police notes that every vehicle that was targeted in the case was unlocked at the time of the alleged thefts. With that in mind, the agency is reminding residents not to leave firearms, cash and other valuables in their vehicles overnight.
